Painting the Unseen

Between 1906 and 1915 the Swedish artist created her most important body of work. The paintings are characterised by her hybrid imagery of signs and symbols drawn from af Klint's engagement with contemporary science and esoteric religious philosophies, from the discovery of electromagnetic waves to the spiritual teachings of anthroposophist Rudolf Steiner.
